BBQ Comes to Napa Valley

Even though schools are going back, summer is just getting started in the San Francisco Bay Area. Take advantage of the beautiful weather with good food and good fun.

Napa Valley Vineyards

On the morning of Saturday, August 24th, Peju Winery is holding their annual grape stomp and BBQ – Stomping Man. The event price includes a welcome tasting, continental breakfast, grape stomping, and a BBQ lunch with a glass of Peju Provence. Upgrade to a VIP ticket, and you wall also receive a Stomping Man tee shirt, a Private Reserve & Library tasting, reserved seating for the BBQ, and more.

If you are not into stomping grapes, or if you want to keep your day going, come down to Downtown Napa Saturday afternoon for Blues, Brews & BBQ. Blue Moon Brewery and the Downtown Napa Association are putting together three musical stages, 30 micro-brewed beers, and enough BBQ to keep you full for a week! This is a family friendly event with a Kid’s Area featuring bounce houses, face painting, and airbrush tattoos. Also, The Bounty Hunter Rib Eatin’ contest will see how many ribs ten normally refined people can eat in ten minutes. After being crowned, a wheelbarrow will tote the winner away.

If you are up, willing, and still hungry on Sunday, V. Sattui Winery puts on a BBQ lunch – including wood-fired pizzas to order and a mozzarella bar – on the weekends. The V. Sattui picnic grounds spread over two acres and include giant oaks, walnuts, lawns, and gardens. With a deli on site, any day of the week is a great day for a picnic on this stunning property.

Finally, top off your weekend with the Music in the Vineyards Closing Night Celebration. Sunday August 25th marks the close of the 19th annual chamber music festival at the Meadowood Resort and Spa.
